I didn’t fall off the planet. School started. So I guess that could be counted as the same thing. In addition to the new semester, I have found my love of story creation again. Postpartum Depression killed it pretty hard a little over ten years ago, so I’m using this new spurt of inspiration to write a few things I’d had on the back-burner for a while. And I’m using Wattpad to keep track of it, piece by piece. So here’s a few things I wanted you guys to know about my schedule in the next few months:
My love of writing and homework has eaten up a fairly significant amount of my time during the week, including the amount of time and energy I can pour into Twitch. But I feel rotten just abandoning it altogether because I still love gaming, I love chatting with my viewers, and I love reading aloud.
Sunday really becomes the only day of the week I find myself with a solid block of available time. So starting Sunday, October 6th, I have a Sunday double header planned. Starting at my normal time of 2pm MST, I will continue Stories with Scrappy. Then I will take a couple hour break to get dinner over with and then I’ll be online again playing Stars Wars: The Old Republic almost exclusively for the foreseeable future. With the new expansion coming out in a few weeks, I didn’t think anyone would mind.
You have about a week to let me know if you want me to start a new book. I feel bad. We’re literally at the last couple dozen pages of The White Dragon but its been so many weeks since I read anything I’m not sure if I should just cut my losses and start a new book or just finish it out. You let me know what you think.
Halloween falls on Thursday this year. Anyone up for a late night Halloween party? Let’s do what we do best – rock to Halloween inspired hits, have trivia competitions and I’ll give away some prizes! Let’s say 8pm MST Halloween night!
My Book, Sweetwater, and Wattpad
Sweetwater is the story of a young mother of two, a paraplegic and a widow who’s world is turned upside down when she meets a kind stranger on vacation. Separated by circumstance, their attraction is given a chance when they find each other again. But will her insecurities and widow guilt, and his fight with PTSD get in the way of a happily ever after, or will they be to each other what the other needs?
It’s a clean, or sweet, romance. So think light PG-13. If I wouldn’t want my oldest daughter reading it, I’m not writing it like that. Sorry, no raunchy sex scenes with Phillip.
My Wattpad handle is the same as all my other stuff, @scrappywheelz, and you can find my books there. It’s a work in progress, and right now I’m on section 9. Make sure to check back frequently for updates, but officially Sweetwater sections are released on Saturdays.
I also have another story I’ve been working on. Its a piece of fan-fiction in the Dragonriders of Pern universe. It’s called Free to Fly and its first four sections are available to read as well.
I am not afraid of constructive criticism. It only makes my stories and my writing better, so if you see something that needs improvement, something that doesn’t make sense or just general line edits like missing words or grammatical oopsies, please feel free to leave a comment.
